Job Description:
As a Power BI Developer , you will lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise reporting solutions as part of a large-scale data modernization and migration initiative. This role focuses on transforming legacy reports into modern, scalable, and user-friendly Power BI solutions that support operational, analytical, and leadership reporting needs.

You will serve as the technical lead for a team of Power BI developers, establishing development standards, providing mentorship, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality reporting assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Power BI, enterprise reporting, data visualization, data modeling, and business intelligence best practices while working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the redesign, modernization, and development of legacy reporting solutions using Power BI.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to a team of Power BI developers.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and ETL developers to ensure accurate and efficient data integration.

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, scorecards, and data visualizations that support business operations and decision-making.

  • Build accessible, visually effective, and standardized reporting solutions aligned with organizational standards and accessibility requirements.

  • Ensure reporting assets adhere to governance, security, compliance, and documentation standards.

  • Perform report testing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

  • Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into reporting and visualization solutions.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, report specifications, data definitions, and support materials.

  • Support enterprise reporting initiatives and contribute to reporting strategy, standards, and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions in enterprise environments.

  • Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, data visualization, and dashboard development.

  • Experience working with ETL processes, data integration methodologies, and Business Intelligence reporting tools.

  • Proven experience serving as a technical lead and mentoring teams of 4 or more developers.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles, data relationships, and enterprise reporting best practices.

  • Experience building standardized, accessible, and user-friendly reporting solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, developers, data engineers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience validating report accuracy, data integrity, and reporting consistency through testing and quality assurance processes.

  • Strong documentation skills with experience creating technical specifications, reporting standards, and support documentation.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience supporting large-scale data migration, modernization, or enterprise reporting transformation initiatives is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
