Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Operator, where you'll play a vital role in landfill construction and cell development projects. Utilize your expertise in operating CAT D6 dozers and production excavators, contributing to grading, earthmoving, and material placement tasks throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT D6 dozers and production excavators safely and efficiently.
• Construct and maintain landfill cells according to project specifications.
• Grade and compact landfill materials to required elevations and tolerances.
• Work on slopes up to a 1:3 grade.
• Utilize onboard Trimble GPS systems for grading and layout.
• Perform hauling and earthmoving operations averaging approximately one-half mile in each direction.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain production goals while operating safely.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Experience with dozers, excavators, landfill, earthwork, or heavy civil projects.
• Ability to work extended hours and travel as project demands require.
• Strong attendance and reliability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• GPS experience preferred, especially with Trimble systems.
• Experience working on steep grades and maintaining slope tolerances.
• Experience reading grade stakes, plans, and machine control displays.
• CAT equipment experience highly preferred.
• Landfill construction experience is a plus.
• Ability to travel extensively.

Work Environment

Work outdoors in landfill and heavy civil construction environments, often on active landfill construction projects. Expect a five-day work week with overtime available and frequent travel required. Be prepared for exposure to varying weather conditions and terrain. Company provides a hard hat and safety vest, but employees must provide their own steel-toe boots (above the ankle), work pants, and T-shirts.

This is a Contract position based out of Bellaire, OH.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Bellaire,OH.
