Position Description
Columbia-Greene Community College is seeking qualified, student-centered educators to join its Prison Education Program (PEP) adjunct faculty. We are seeking instructors from all disciplines to conduct in-person classes through the College's Prison Education Program at New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) facilities. Course assignments are based on departmental needs, enrollment, and instructor qualifications.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to student success, social justice, inclusive teaching practices, and academic excellence. Join us in making a meaningful impact by providing high-quality educational opportunities to justice-impacted students across a variety of learning environments.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field is generally required. Additional qualifications may be required depending on the subject area and applicable accreditation standards.
PEP adjunct faculty teaching in DOCCS or OCFS facilities may be subject to a comprehensive background check, fingerprinting, and a TB test. Additionally, faculty assigned to a DOCCS facility will need to complete volunteer training with the Office of Volunteer Services before they can begin teaching courses.
To Apply
Please submit your application, including a cover letter, resume or curriculum vitae, copy of official transcripts, and contact information for three professional references.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed as instructional needs arise.
